FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves doing three scleral incisions in the area of ciliary body flat part projection. Irrigation solution is introduced through one of the incisions under pressure at the first stage. Irrigation fluid substitution with a perfluororganic substance is carried out at the second stage. Vitreous body cavity filling starts at the optic nerve disk. When filling vitreous body cavity with the perfluororganic substance to the scleral ducts level, silicon oil covering perfluororganic substance surface flows outside through the incisions. The vitreous body cavity is repeatedly filled with perfluororganic substance to the level of posterior iridolenticular membrane surface. Silicon oil gathered on the perfluororganic substance surface passively flows outside through the scleral pierces. After having removed the silicon oil, the perfluororganic substance is substituted with irrigation solution. The operation is finished with suturing sclera and conjunctiva. EFFECT: maximum silicon oil quantity removable from the cavity; avoided postoperative complications.
