FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: silicon oil in vitreous body is stepwise substituted with liquid perfluoroorganic compound. Each portion of perfluoroorganic compound exceeds amount of removed oil by 0.1 ml. Perfluoroorganic compound is introduced toward disk of the optic nerve. After total substitution of silicon oil by perfluoroorganic compound, 2 to 5 extra portions of perfluoroorganic compound are added in order to completely remove oil from suprachoroidal space.
EFFECT: enabled complete removal of silicon oil from suprachoroidal space, drainage of suprachoroidal space without significant increase in intraocular pressure, reduced traumatism of the eye, and excluded retinal detachment.
