PROCESS OF PRODUCING COAGULANT IN FORM OF LIQUID ALUMINUM SULFATE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: production of coagulants - aluminum sulfate possessing high coagulating ability. SUBSTANCE: process of production of coagulant in the form of liquid aluminum sulfate includes simultaneous supply of reagents - aluminum hydroxide with sulfuric acid taken in amount of no less 95% stoichiometry to reactor through vertical cylindrical mixer located in vertical part of reactor. Chemical reaction of reagents in reactor is conducted at temperature of 90-110 C with continuous mixing by anchor agitator. Prior to supply of aluminum hydroxide having moisture content not more 12% to mixer, it is mixed with water to obtain pulp with density of at least 1.3 g/cu.cm. Produced fusion cake of aluminum sulfate is diluted with water to concentration by Al₂O₃ up to 7-8%. Process is realized by closed cycle.
