FIELD: metallurgy; methods of extraction of vanadium from vanadium-containing raw materials; manufacture of vanadium products. SUBSTANCE: vanadium-containing slag is subjected to roasting; used as reagent additive is flushing slag of aluminum-silicon thermal process of ferrovanadium; fraction of reagent is found from the following formula: where P is fraction of reagent additive of flushing slag of aluminum- silicon thermal process of production of ferrovanadium in mixture with vanadium slag; M is coefficient of proportionality equal to 0.7 - 1.2; is fraction of V2O5 in vanadium slag (in converting V2O3 into V2O5); DCaO is fraction of CaO in vanadium slag. Vanadium-containing slag including 63.22-64.32 wt.% of sum of oxide V, Fe and Mn is used as vanadium-containing slag. Method provides for obtaining soluble forms of vanadium at oxidizing roasting, thus improving thermophysical and ecological conditions of charge roasting.
