FIELD: compositions used for application of phosphate coatings to steel surfaces prior to application of paint coatings of various types; applicable in mechanical and instrumentation engineering and other industries. SUBSTANCE: composition has the following ratio of components, wt.%: orthiphosphoric acid, 24.6-27.5; zinc oxide, 10.0-13.5; nitric acid, 5.0-7.8; tartaric or racemic acid, 0.6-2.0; nickel-containing compound, 0.4-1.6; iron-containing compound, 0.1-2.2; water, the balance. Technical result consists in producing of low-weight phosphate coatings, reduction of composite consumption, formed slime and zinc concentration in working solutions and, respectively, in sewage waters.
