SUBSTANCE: steam-atomizing burner has body with tip and injector where steam pipe union with threaded cone and spool valve plug is fitted. Steam-atomizing burner is additionally provided with shield secured with tip; cross section of shield in upper portion is outlined with arc at radius R1 = (1/3-1/2)•0,7•h with center located at distance S1 = 0,7•(h-R1)-R1 from central axis of shield at height H1 = R1, drawn from upper edge of shield; in lower portion, section is outlined with arc at radius R2 = h-R1 with center located at distance S2 = 0,7•(h-R1)-R2 from central axis of shield at height H2 = R1, drawn from upper edge of shield; upper and lower arcs of cross section are conjugated; diameter of shield in outlet section is found from the following relationship: where damb is diameter of embrasure; h is height of shield cavity; lower portion of shield has holes; total area of these holes is equal to area of outlet hole of shield. EFFECT: reduced yield of nitric oxides due to turbulent motion of entire fuel mixture in furnace space by 60%. 1 dwg
