FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space material science, particularly to development of materials providing additional protection of element base, separate units and units of radioelectronic equipment from damaging cosmic impact. Multilayer polymer-carbon composite for protection against cosmic action includes polyimide binder, modified filler, two layers of carbon fabric-cloth, ceramic coating based on α-Al2O3 and coating from metallic molybdenum. Filler used is modified tungsten dioxide WO2, with the following ratio of components: polyimide - 17.75–24.55 wt. %; modified tungsten dioxide WO2 - 36.83–50.54 wt. %; carbon fabric-cloth - 1.59–1.94 wt. %; ceramic coating based on α-Al2O3 - 13.29–16.21 wt. %; coating from metallic molybdenum - 16.83–20.47 wt. %. Disclosed also is a method of producing a multilayer polymer-carbon composite.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at obtaining a multilayer polymer-carbon composite for protection against space impact with high physical-mechanical, radiation-protective and light-reflecting characteristics.
