FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves showing optical stimuli position beyond the limits of perceptive visional or receptive space or beyond the central retinal region to a patient. Patient responses to the shown optical stimuli with known set of responses characteristic for given pathologic state are tested. Correcting and preventing treatment is carried out. The optical stimuli are shown for the second time. Patient responses are compared and correcting and preventing treatment techniques are selected on the basis of comparison. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment with retinohypothalamic system states being taken into account. 3 cl, 4 tbl
