FIELD: polymerization processes. SUBSTANCE: invention divulge composition containing poly-alpha-olefins, which function as flow-resistance lowering agents. Method involves bringing alphaolefin monomers into contact with catalyst particles in liquid-phase polymerization mixture including hydrocarbon solvent. Polymerization of alphaolefin monomers gives desired poly-alpha-olefin agents with intrinsic viscosity value at least 10 dl/g. During polymerization of alpha-olefin monomers, localized micelles containing high- molecular weight poly-alpha-olefin are formed in micellar zones round catalyst particles. Polymerization is conducted in presence of viscosity-lowering agent containing hydrophobic dispersant, said agent being present in amounts sufficient to lower viscosity of reaction mixture and dispersing localized micelles. Addition of dispersant during the polymerization process enables formation of high-molecular weight polymer and more uniform distribution of molecular weight of polymer. Invention also provides preparation of liquid poly-alpha-olefin flow-resistance lowering agent in one or several polymerization reactors.
