FIELD: motor vehicle cooling systems for heat accumulation, storage, and transfer during starting period. SUBSTANCE: heat storage device that may be mounted in any desired position and provides for fast and efficient heating of motor vehicle engine has housing, coolant admission and discharge pipe connections passed through bottom coaxially to center line of sealed coolant circulation cavity. This cavity accommodates transverse diaphragms secured at distance where Q is coolant flowrate; D is inner diameter of heat storage device. Transverse diaphragms have opposing segmental bevels on adjacent diaphragms and holes at sections adjacent to housing walls. Heat storage device has two transverse pipes installed at opposite bottoms which join cavities formed by these bottoms and end diaphragms in region opposing segmental bevel, one pipe being joined to discharge pipe connection and other, to admission one. Both pipes are disposed in same plane and in opposite direction. EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced service life and reliability of heat storage device. 1 dwg
