FIELD: ice technology; applicable in creation of ice platforms of high load-carrying capacities. SUBSTANCE: method consists in formation of stiffening ribs on ice cover by making grooves in longitudinal and transverse directions with depth less than ice thickness with subsequent drilling of at least more than one through holes in cells formed in ice cover. Drilled holes are used for injection of gas to under lower edge of ice and their subsequent closing. Ice cover is exposed to subzero temperature t<00C for time required for equalization of temperatures on upper and lower edges of ice cover. Novelty consists in that, at first, injected to under ice lower edge is gas, then formed gas cavities are filled with material overcooled at temperature of t<00C, finely divided lighter than water and possessing good adhesion to ice and heat-insulating properties, and after it, holes are opened in ice cover.
