FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: nozzle of fuel injector 10 for gas generator has protective refractory device 70 flush mounted on its lower end in the vicinity of discharge part 40. Refractory insert 72 is made annular and positioned around nozzle discharge opening. Annular refractory insert may be made one-piece or sectional. One-piece or sectional annular refractory insert is positioned inside slot in surface on lower end of fuel injector nozzle and retained inside slot by retaining pins or due to interaction of threaded projection and threaded channel, which are formed on mating surfaces of slot and refractory member. Annular refractory member facilitates prolonged service life of fuel injector by protecting vulnerable surfaces of lower end of fuel injector nozzle, which are positioned proximate hot and corrosive reaction zones inside gas generator.
