DEVICE FOR FIREPROOF SEALING OF EXHAUST DUCTS IN BUILDING STRUCTURES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: device includes protective diaphragm from boards and/or slag fill. Protective diaphragm consists of body to which structural members of insulating insert are attached. Insert is located inside air cavity of wall exhaust duct to separate air cavity in building height into hermetic storey blocks, and/or it is located inside air space of ceiling in point of joint of wall and ceiling to separate air space into closed room spaces. Insulating insert is made in the form of structural member from fireproof material withstanding temperatures up to 980 ± 50 C without losing its fire-protective properties. Insulating insert is tightly attached to guard members of air cavity of exhaust duct of wall and/or ceiling in place of their joint. Said device is used to increase structural protection against fire of existing buildings made of wood structurers with air spaces of ceilings and/or wall exhaust ducts having powerful natural draught. Technical result of invention consists in reduction of fire hazard of hollow wood structures of wall and ceilings, utilization of local materials, reduction of expenses, higher reliability, simplicity and degree of protection, higher resistance of building to thermal breakdown, alleviation of risk of load-carrying structures collapse.
