FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: device and procedure of segmentation and repeat collection of traffic with constant bit rate are realized with the aid of operation of conversion of traffic contained in signal frame T1/E1 to cell ATM and back, namely, operation of conversion of cell ATM to traffic with constant bit rate and of traffic transport with constant bit rate in frame T1/E1. Traditional systems of segmentation of repeat collection of traffic with constant bit rate require usage of number of modules to ensure operational connection between public telephone network and ATM network. Owing to this such standard systems of segmentation and repeat collection of traffic with constant bit rate raise cost and number of hardware items. In accordance with presented invention simple and standardized transfer between various operation conditions is achieved. Number of connection T1/E1 can be increased correspondingly. Said device in agreement with given invention can be operationally connected to ATM switch, for instance, to ATM transceiver. In this case ATM switch can replace audio signal switches of standard system with time multiplexing intended for spatial and time commutation of data transmitted by pulse-code modulation method.
