FIELD: rigging of controlled mobile robots. SUBSTANCE: process consists in recording of radiation by three detectors placed on platform of mobile robot. One detection unit is intended for search and comprises two detectors separated by screen. Detection unit is so positioned on platform of mobile robot that axis of separating screen coincides with longitudinal axis of mobile robot. While searching for radiation source mobile robot moves in direction determined by equal intensity signals from both detectors. Second detection unit is meant for detection. It presents detector put on manipulator of mobile robot. It is employed to record change of dosage rate and to determine location of gamma radiation source. EFFECT: effective search for and detection of precise positions of gamma radiation sources under conditions of non-uniform radioactive contamination. 2 cl, 3 dwg
