SPINAL COLUMN TRACTION APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2195243 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has casing, traction units, actuating mechanisms comprising DC electric engine, patient holding members kinematically connected to actuating mechanisms through flexible binder, program-time unit, power unit, predetermined traction mode control sensor, emergency switch, and vibrator. Casing is made hollow. Massaging cart is positioned inside casing for reciprocating longitudinal displacement therein. Cart has massaging rollers mounted on platform and kinematically connected with electromechanical screw-type lifting mechanism. Working surface of casing is provided with slot for massaging rollers. Vibrator is mounted on said platform and is equipped with vibration amplitude and frequency regulator. Cart actuating mechanism has chain transmission with sprockets and cam, which are mechanically connected to massaging cart. Traction units are formed as screw-type traction mechanisms with worm electric engine and tractive force control sensors, which provide for automatic continuously adjustable controlling and dosing of tractive force during traction of spinal column neck and lumbar regions. Program-time unit has starting device, neck and lumbar region traction mode regulator, heating temperature regulator, vibration regulator, and massaging roller level regulator. Apparatus is employed for axial traction and vibratory and mechanical action upon muscular-ligamentous system of spinal column and may be used for rehabilitation, prophylaxis and treatment of patients with neurological signs of cervical, thoracal and lumbar osteochondrosis. EFFECT: increased efficiency by combined automatic procedure of heating-vibratory massage and spinal column traction. 7 cl, 4 dwg
