METHOD FOR TREATING PATIENTS FOR VERTEBRAL COLUMN DISEASES Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61H1/02 A61H23/00

Abstract RU 2308257 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminarily carrying out medical training exercises, applying dry heat treatment to the vertebral column in lying position, intensity- and duration-controlled vibromassage with dry heat treatment concurrently applied in lying position, controllable dry vertebral column stretching and dry heat treatment concurrently applied in lying position. Vibromassage procedure is carried out as follows. Wave-shaped vertebral column oscillations are achieved in sagittal plane by carrying out longitudinal mechanical vibromassage with roller-type- body massage apparatus performing rolling movements (longitudinal vibromassage). Additional wave-shaped vertebral column oscillations are achieved in frontal plane by swinging lower extremities of patient in this plane with longitudinal-transverse mechanical vibromassage being concurrently applied (spatial vibromassage). Next to it, controllable dry vertebral column stretching is carried out on the background of longitudinal mechanical vibromassage as follows. Stretching force is increased to given maximum value within given time interval (tension phase) and the value is hold unchanged within given time interval (retention phase). The force is reduced to given minimum value within given time interval (relaxation phase)that is also hold within given time interval (expectation phase). Then, the stretching cycle comprising tension, retention, relaxation and relaxation phase is repeated given number of times. Dry vertebral column heat treatment temperature is selected within the limits of 5-50°C and applied in lying position. Path length (linear vertebral column zone under massage) and roller-type- body massage apparatus passage frequency is selected within the limits of 700-850 mm and 0.05-0.07 Hz, respectively. Patient lower extremities oscillations amplitude and frequency is selected within the limits of 30-45 mm and 0-50 Hz, respectively. Each tension, retention, relaxation and relaxation phase duration is selected within the limits of 5-600 s. Roller-type- body massage apparatus rollers are pressed against patient body zone under massage is controllable. Tension is applied at various angles with respect to vertebral column axis. The treatment procedure is terminated with manual massage and manual treatment leaving the patient in rest state at least 5 min long.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; wide range of functional applications.
