Abstract RU 2195360 C2

FIELD: physics of plasma; applicable in physical researches, medicine, biology and agriculture. SUBSTANCE: mixture of isotopes subject to separation is ionized. Highly ionized plasma with density of 1011 cm-3 and temperature of 5•103 K is supplied at velocity of 1.4•103 m/s to device for isotopes separation whose magnetic system consists of solenoid 7 and core 6 of ferrite. Magnetic system sets up magnetic field with asymmetrically corrugated profile of value of longitudinal component of magnetic field intensity. Said system, in particular case, may be made in the form of coil with core in the form of cylinder whose internal surface in longitudinal section is serrate whose one slope is a sleeper. Applied to electrode 4 is variable electromagnetic field with frequency exceeding the critical one. Amplitude of electromagnetic field is selected such as to provide only for ions of heavy isotope possibility of overcoming the potential barrier associated with magnetic field corrugation after application of negative voltage to right-hand plate. Ions of heavy isotopes drift to left-hand and are gathered on collector 5, and ions of light isotopes remain in volume of magnetic system and precipitate on walls of vacuum chamber 3. Invention allows separation of isotopes of various types with no use of complicated devices for heating of plasma and adjustment of its frequency. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
