FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying suspension of powder abrasion-resistant alloy and PVA solution onto metallic surface of instrument or agricultural tool. According to other embodiment, method involves applying PVA solution onto metallic surface with following deposition of powder alloy layer; drying coat of suspension or PVA binding agent so that layer of dry coat of alloy in PVA matrix is left; heating metallic surface in vacuum, in inert gas or hydrogen atmosphere to alloy melting temperature; subjecting metal part with melted coat to thermal treatment for imparting desired mechanical properties to basic material. Method and suspension allow smooth, dense coat to be obtained, which imparts high abrasion-resistance and strength to metal part, with said coat being free of non-metal inclusions.
