FIELD: analysis and test of corrosive destruction of uranium. SUBSTANCE: sealed container includes absorber selectively separating accompanying admixtures released by units of container and present in storage medium, catalyst based on palladium, specimens of metallic uranium. Prior to measurement container is blown through with air and changes in time of content of hydrocarbons in the capacity of secondary products of corrosive destruction of uranium are measured. Secondary products are produced by reaction of organic impurities contained in storage medium with hydrogen liberated by corrosion of metallic uranium. Calibration graphs of dependence of change of hydrocarbon content on storage time are constructed on basis of conducted measurements. Sudden change of direction of graphs is used to form information on start and degree of corrosive destruction of metallic uranium.
