FIELD: environment control. SUBSTANCE: method intended to recover radioactive and industrial toxic bottom deposits followed by immobilization of recovered products in stable solid matrix includes mixing radioactive wastes with mineral and salt additives, heating and seasoning them to produce end product. Glass-forming and glass-modifying materials taken in definite proportion are used as mineral and salt additives. Glass-forming components are compounds of silicon, boron, and mineral or synthetic aluminosilicates. Glass-modifying components are alkali metal salts. Radioactive and/or toxic bottoms mixed up with glass-forming and glass-modifying additives are charged in melter. Mixture is heated in melter to 1100-1200 C and exposed to this temperature until homogeneous melt is obtained. After that melt is tapped from melter and seasoned until end product is formed.
