FIELD: hoisting-and-conveying plant using electromagnets for holding and conveying metal sheets, sections, and scrap. SUBSTANCE: method includes covering conductor with insulation and making coil from this conductor. Conductor is proposed to be bent through 180 deg. prior to covering it with insulation along one or more crease edges, each crease edge being perpendicular to normal section of conductor. As an alternative conductor may be cut along one or more section lines into strips prior to covering it with insulation, each section line being perpendicular to normal section of conductor, whereupon strips are assembled in bundle. Maximum normal sectional area of bundle equals greatest width of mentioned strips and minimum normal sectional area of bundle equals total thickness of strips. EFFECT: minimized consumption of insulating material, reduced coil size for same conductor section, enhanced quality of coil due to better heat transfer. 10 cl, 8 dwg
