FIELD: mechanical engineering; materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electromagnetic device designed for holding and transportation metal sheets, sections and scrap. According to proposed method coil, after windings, is fixed over outer contour, central hole of coil is released from locating device, bracket of transportation device into central hole of coil and said bracket is displaced together with coil. Bracket of transportation device is made of sheet material. Then bracket of transportation device together with coil is fitted into magnetic circuit and coil is fixed inside magnetic circuit over outer contour after which bracket of transportation device is brought out of contact with coil. According to outer version, magnetic circuit, together with coil, is turned through 90° around horizontal turning axis, with load lugs pointed downwards; leads of coil are formed in process of contact of coil with transportation device bracket; coil is subjected to drying after fitting on and locking of shunting washer on magnetic circuit; coil is impregnated with insulating varnish after fitting on and locking of shunting washer circuit; leads are fixed and inner space of magnetic circuit is filled with insulating filling compound by delivering compound through one or several holes in terminal box; coil is dried by heating with electric current passed through coil after fitting on and locking of shunting washer on magnetic circuit. When in insulating varnish and electric insulating filling compound and drying, inner space of magnetic circuit should be preferably evacuated. proposed method makes it possible to reduce mounting clearances to minimum and thus improved heat removal from coil, bring to minimum number of displacements and turnovers of coil and magnetic circuit in process of assembling and so reduced possibility of damping insulation, reduce energy consumption, improved quality of insulation owing to evacuation.
