FIELD: radio navigation, location of mobile objects. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention lies in increased precision of fixing positions of mobile objects and in expansion of potential of method thanks to rational location of base stations on serviced territory. According to given method base stations with unique identification number assigned to each base station are placed in centers of conventional cells presenting equal regular hexagons densely covering serviced territory. Radii of coverage of these base stations are set equal to length of side of each regular hexagon. Call radio signals are emitted on assigned working frequency from positioned mobile object which is one of mobile objects located within limits of serviced territory. Base stations are located in centers and vertexes of regular hexagons in which coverage mobile objects are positioned. EFFECT: increased precision of fixing positions of mobile objects, expanded potential of method thanks to rational location of base stations on serviced territory. 8 dwg
