FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: a dynamic row of cardiointervals is registered in a patient in the state of rest, the values for the activity of patient's regulatory systems and its gain are estimated. Additionally, one should determine respiratory minute volume of an object in the state of rest, and maximal pulmonary ventilation. Then it is evaluated a coefficient of respiratory reserve in relation to the difference in the values of maximal pulmonary ventilation and respiratory minute volume of an object in the state of rest to the value of maximal pulmonary ventilation to determine the value of reserve opportunities (VRO) of an object by the formula 1: VRO = CRR×ΔGARS, where CRR - a coefficient off respiratory reserve, ΔGARS - a possible gain for the value of activity of an object's regulatory systems. The values obtained within 0-10 range indicate physical health of a patient. The method increases accuracy of estimation being safe during testing. EFFECT: higher efficiency of evaluation. 1 tbl
