COOLING METHOD AT DIAMOND-ABRASIVE GRINDING Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: machine engineering, particularly, metal cutting in grinding machine tools. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding technological cooling and lubricating liquid and gas to cutting zone; using carbon dioxide as gas mixed with technological cooling and lubricating liquid in zone of action of concentrator of hydraulic striker. Gas-liquid technological cooling and lubricating mixture is sprayed through nozzle to cutting zone by action of hydraulic shock. At cooling diamond-abrasive tool with axially shifted cutting layer, nozzle performs lengthwise reciprocation motions synchronously with oscillation movements of peripheral cutting zone. Above mentioned mixture leaves nozzle at high rate that is why at gas expansion temperature in cutting zone drops for effectively cooling ground surface. Impulse stream of gas-liquid technological cooling and lubricating mixture breaks through aerodynamic air flow. Rate of mixture contact with cutting profile of grinding disc is almost equal to cutting rate.
