FIELD: cutting of hard-to-work metals, possibly honing of cylindrical openings. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes rod with pins arranged in honing head. Pins of rod are joined with drive unit for radial motion of abrasive honing rings Apparatus also includes hydraulic cylinders for reciprocation motion. Working liquid is injected to hydraulic cylinders under impulse pressure created by means of concentrator arranged on rod and spring-loaded to housing of hydraulic striker. Vibration combined with rotation and reciprocation motion of honing head provides crossing motion of abrasive grains and periodically changes cutting effort and friction force. EFFECT: significantly, by several times, enhanced efficiency of honing at the same high quality of honed surface. 3 dwg
