FIELD: organic chemistry, biochemistry, enzymology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to application of indole- containing derivatives of maleimide of the general formula given in the invention claim where if R = R1 is H, then R2-H or lower alkyl and R3 means β-D-xylopyranosyl (D-Xyl), β-D-galactopyranosyl (D-Gal), α-L- arabinopyranosyl (L-Ara), β-D-lactopyranosyl (D-Lac) or -OCH2OCH2CH2-OH; or if R + R1 is a single bond then R2 is H or lower alkyl and R3 means β-D-xylopyranosyl, β-D-galactopyranosyl, α-L-arabinopyranosyl or -OCH2OCH2CH2-OH as inhibitor of soluble form of guanylate cyclase. Invention can be used in biochemistry for investigation of regulatory effects of nitrogen oxide and mechanism of effect of soluble form of guanylate cyclase. Compounds of the invention show are the more effective inhibitor of activity of guanylate cyclase soluble form (inhibition degree is 31.4-86.1% in concentration 50 mcM) as compared with their the most related analog doxorubicin (19.5% of inhibition).
