FIELD: biotechnology, gene engineering, agriculture, plants' physiology. SUBSTANCE: transformed corn in vitro is obtained by cocultivating corn plants' explants upon nutritive medium with agrobacteria preactivized by tobacco exudate and subsequent addition of antibiotics. Cocultivation of corn explants is carried out at the lawn of agrobacteria during one passage of cultivation. As explants one should use either immature germs or embryogenic callus. Antibiotics are added gradually, firstly, cefotaxime for 6 passages at concentration of 100-300 mg/l, then, kanamycin to select kanamycin-resistant plants. The method provides increased yield of kanamycin-resistant plants being 8.1- 21.6 for immature germs and 14.5-40.1 for embryogenic callus at stable reproducibility of results, and, also, its improved technological properties of the method against ballistic technique due to not applying a power-consuming special equipment and efficient application of plant material.
