FIELD: production of acetylene by wet method; cleaning acetylene from admixtures, hydrogen sulfide and phosphines . SUBSTANCE: method includes passing of producer acetylene through purifying mass having the following composition, mas. %: Cr IV in terms of CrO₃, 0.5-0.9; sulfuric acid, 3.0-4.0; chromium phosphates in terms of CrPO₄, 4.5 to 6.5; chromium (III) bisulfates , 23.3-24.7; chromium sulfates, 7.0-8.0 and solid carrier-perlite, the balance. Waste purifying mass is subjected to flushing, decanting and drying, after which it is mixed with 5-15-% fresh mass and is returned to process.
