PROPPANTS AND METHOD OF THEIR PRODUCTION Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2196889 C1

FIELD: production of propping agents - proppants for stabilization of fissures after hydraulic fractures of oil-bearing formations. SUBSTANCE: proppants are produced from ceramic material with the following ratio of components, mas. %: corrundum-containing material, 20-80; cyclone dust of abrasive material production, 10-40; argillaceous component with refractoriness of 1100-1500 C (particularly, red clay, 20-80; and kaoline, 20-80), 10-40; and binder (above 100%, particularly, aqueous solution of carboxymethyl cellulose) 10-30; additional inclusions of iron oxide forming components, for instance, iron scale, 2-15. Proppants are produced from ceramic mass containing ground together with said initial ingredients by pelletizing of mass, and pellet roasting, preferably, at temperatures of 1200-1400 C. EFFECT: higher mechanical strength of proppants and their low cost due to use of inexpensive raw materials in the form of technogenic materials. 9 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex
