FIELD: processes for producing finely dispersed silica by combustion of liquid silicon-containing compounds in flame of fuel gases. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes housing and nozzle with ducts for introducing siliconcontaining components and hydrogen- and oxygen-containing gas. Housing has central opening formed by lower cylindrical surface and by two truncated cone surfaces joined along small perimeter of base. In upper outer portion housing has closed annular turning for feeding mixed hydrogen- and oxygen-containing gas. In lower portion housing has two openings with radial and tangential outlets open to central opening of cylindrical portion of housing. Nozzle with inner cone opening is arranged along axis of housing. Outer surface of nozzle forms together with inner surface of housing annular cavity for introducing compressed air. Rotary plug with central duct is placed in inner cone opening of nozzle. On outer surface of plug in its mean portion there are two cuts arranged at mutually opposite sides. Said cuts form together with inner surface of nozzle separate ducts for ejection of different silicon-containing components. Method for producing finely dispersed silica comprises steps of charging liquid silicon-containing compounds into vessels; transporting said compounds to spraying zone; mixing them with hydrogen-containing gas and air; combusting reaction components. Transporting, spraying and mixing of reaction components are realized by means of vacuum created by flow of gas being one of reaction components. Working gas is supplied radially or tangentially for swirling it and for controlling quantity of supplied silicon-containing compounds. Flow of cooling air is fed to combustion zone at regulating its angular displacement in range from 135 to 90 degrees.
