FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining thoracic cavity organs and viscera. Disposition and structure of parenchymatous and hollow visceral organs and their dislocation into pleural area are determined. Ultrasonic examination is carried out with convex transducer at 5 MHz frequency in prone, dorsal and lateral patient position. Longitudinal scanning is carried out in top down direction from inferior intercostal spaces. Transverse and oblique cross-section pictures at various angles are produced with linear transducer of 7.5 MHz frequency. EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
