FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology and pathological anatomy. For post mortem diagnostics of inborn pneumonia in newborn magnetic-resonance tomographic (MRI) research of thoracic cavity organs of dead child is carried out in T2 standard mode in sagittal projection. On obtained images optic density of tissues of each lung (LD) and pleural liquid (PL) is performed, the basis of which index of airiness is calculated by formula: PL/LD for right and left lung. If values of airiness index are lower than 2.5 in both lungs presence of inborn pneumonia is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method ensures fast, objective and non-invasive diagnostics of inborn pneumonia and respectively cause of newborn baby death.
