FIELD: electromagnetic separation of finely dispersed mineral mixtures and small particles with high selectivity degree for their separation and concentration. SUBSTANCE: electromagnetic separator includes magnetic system in the form of two electromagnets having the same magnetic polarity, arranged with inclination one relative to another and with possibility of regulating gap between them and connected to AC mains through rectifying diodes. Cathode of one diode and anode of another diode respectively are connected with leading end of windings of first and second electromagnets with possibility for creating pulsating magnetic field. Separator includes ducts for discharging non-magnetic and magnetic products and charging apparatus. Separator is provided with separation chamber in the form of cylinder whose axis is inclined by angle equal to 45 degrees relative to horizon; inside said cylinder separation platform is arranged. Electromagnets have flat cores and they are arranged over cylinder in such a way that they are inclined by right angle one relative to another and to axis of cylinder. Magnetic fraction is discharged out of separation zone through worm conveyor and pipeline.
