FIELD: glassmaking. SUBSTANCE: grayish- shaded deep-green-colored alkali-lime glass contains less than 0.4 wt.% FeO and is characterized by light transmittance with light source A and thickness 4 mm (TLA4) above 30%, selectivity (SE4) above 1.55, and UV transmittance (TUV4) below 10%. Excitation purity of the glass at thickness 5 mm is superior to 5%. Glass is particularly appropriate for manufacturing rear and rear-lateral car panes. Glass is composed, wt. %: Na2O, 10-20; CaO, 0-16; SiO2, 60-75; K2O, 0-10; MgO, 0-10; Al2O3, 0-5; BaO, 0-2; K2O+Na2O, 10-20; MgO+CaO+BaO, 10-20; FeO, <0.4; and staining agents.
