COLOURED SODA-LIME GLASS Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC C03C3/87 C03C4/02

Abstract RU 2327657 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to coloured soda-lime glass. The glass contains at least, 5 parts in a million of the mass of Co and from 0.5 to 0.9 mass % of Fe2O3. The quantity of divalent iron on the mass of Fe2+ atoms relative the overall mass of iron atoms in the glass is between 25 and 45%. The glass also contains chrome and/or vanadium. The glass has light transmission "ПСА4" between 20 and 60%, energy transmission "ПЭ4" between 10 and 50% and dominant wavelength during transmission less than 491 nm. The glass has excitation purity equal to or more than 20.12%. The glass is suitable for making blue coloured windows of motor cars.

EFFECT: making of glass, combining an aesthetically good colour and low energy transmission.
