FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fuel devices of diesel engines. Proposed device has high-pressure fuel-injection pump, injection advance coupling consisting of driving coupling member and driven coupling member, electronic control unit, diesel engine speed, coupling members relative position and load sensors electrically coupled with electronic control unit. Device is furnished additionally with electrically controlled power takeoff unit kinematically coupled with driven coupling member of injection advance coupling and electrically coupled with electronic control unit. Method comes to identification of angular position of driving and driven coupling members, comparing said position by means of electronic control unit with position theoretically required for said speed and load conditions of diesel engine monitored by speed and load sensors recorded in read- only memory of electronic control unit and changing angular position of driven coupling member relative to driving coupling member by order from electronic unit. Angular position of driven coupling member relative to driving coupling member, according to proposed method, is changed by order of electronic control indirectly owing to change of load on electrically controlled power takeoff unit which provides changing of load on flexible coupling between driven and driving coupling members and regulated change of angle of turning between driving and driven coupling members.
