FIELD: communications engineering; mobile communication systems. SUBSTANCE: communication channel switching device has base-station transmitter and mobile-station receiver. Base-station transmitter functions to divide present period of frame into transmission period and no- transmission period, to divide frame data within frame period into first and second data, to expand first and second data over spectrum with aid of various orthogonal codes, and to transmit expanded signal during transmission period. Mobile-station receiver receives first and second data expanded by means of various orthogonal codes during transmission period, integrates first and second data into frame data, and searches adjacent base station for switching call over thereto during no- transmission period.
