FIELD: production of commodities. SUBSTANCE: folding umbrella has rod formed of tubes, folding carcass mounted at one end of rod, and movable drive device located inside rod and connected to control device, which comprises internal casing. Tube of other end of rod is located inside casing and is attached to one side of casing. Internal tube with plunger is positioned in casing. Plunger is joined to movable drive device. Cavity with stem is formed at other side of casing and is adapted for accommodation of retaining ring engageable with its pointed chamfered projection to stem, movable coupling and insert positioned for cooperation with plunger through opening in stem. Retaining ring and insert are connected with button. Insert is mounted with its one side in transverse opening of movable coupling, and its other side is spring-loaded in conjunction with retaining ring directly to button, which is pressed from inside to outer casing embracing internal casing. Internal tube is equipped with retaining plate having catch located opposite to opening in end part of stem tube. Such construction provides for easy opening and closing of umbrella.
