FIELD: light industry, in particular, traveling articles, such as collapsible automatically opened and closed umbrellas.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus is made in the form of fully automatic collapsible umbrella having telescopic rod composed of tubes. Collapsible cupola carcass is mounted at one end of rod, while handle, drive and control devices are positioned at other end of rod. Drive device is made in the form of at least one tape of flexible resilient material having curved section. Tape is inserted in abutting relation into tubes. One end of tape is wound onto spool equipped with drive and mounted in handle casing and other end of tape is fastened to umbrella head. Umbrella of such construction may be readily controlled by one hand.

EFFECT: simplified construction, enhanced reliability in operation, convenient use owing to reduced force required for opening or closing of umbrella.
