FIELD: water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for cleaning of underground waters and can be utilized for treatment of drinking water to remove heavy metal ions including those of iron and manganese. Water is treated with calcined sorbent containing, wt.%: CaCO3, 35-45; MgCO3, 25-28; Na2CO3, 7-5; NaCl, 3-2; and MgO, the balance. Treatment is conducted under fluidized bed conditions.
