FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: polycyclic polymer with terminal electron-accepting groups is prepared by polymerization of monomer composition containing acid photoinitiator and polycyclic polymer with reiterating motifs bearing side groups cleavable under effect of acid. When irradiated by image-forming emission source, acid initiator generates acid cleaving acid-labile side groups, which results in inversion of polymer polarity leading to acquiring of water solubility by polymer in its sites affected by image-forming emission source irradiation. In consequence, transparence with respect to short-wave image-forming emission is ensured at simultaneous sufficient stability to conditions of reactive ionic etching process.
