FIELD: railway transport; permanent way. SUBSTANCE: proposed insert 1 is made in form of rectangular truncated pyramid. Opposite walls of insert have form of trapeziums, with larger area walls being made convex, lower bases 4 of trapezium walls of larger are made for engagement with embedded thrust member 5. They follow outline of upper surface of member and are furnished with collapsible film 6 bent outwards through angle of 45-60°. Width of film 6 can be made stepless by increasing from center to edges to make end face of insert 1 rectangular in plan. Film 6 can be made with thickness not exceeding 0.35 mm. Walls of insert 1 in middle part symmetrical relative to end faces can be made with reduction of thickness in middle part to (0.7-0.77)S where S is thickness of parts of walls of insert 1. Length of middle part of walls of hollow insert 1 is (0.4-0.5) H where H is height of walls of hollow insert 1. EFFECT: improved manufacturability, reduced material usage of insert. 4 cl, 2 dwg
