FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves taking gall sample in examining biliferous tracts condition by means of transcutaneous trans- hepatic puncture cholangiography. Gall drop of 0.02 ml in volume is placed on microscope slide, dried at room temperature under minimum air circulation during 18-24 h and subjected to study using microscope. Rhomboid crystals with dendrites branching from them being found in the central zone of a sample, tumor genesis of mechanical jaundice is diagnosed. Nothing but dendrite-like crystals being found or the central zone of the dried drop having amorphous structure, non-tumor origin of mechanical jaundice is to be diagnosed.
