FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; modification of steel at silicon content up to 0.01%. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes melting of metal in steel melting unit, ladling non-oxidized metal, blowing it with argon at two stages, introducing mixture of calcium, magnesium and aluminum into metal at second stage; mixture is first introduced under layer of slag to depth of 0.8-0.9 of height of metal from slag-metal interface; consumption of argon is increased in proportion to ferrostatic pressure of metal. It is good practice to introduce calcium, magnesium and aluminum at the following ratio : (0.8-1.2) : (0.8-1.2) : (7.8-8.3).
