FIELD: metallurgy, possibly restoration of crystallizers. SUBSTANCE: method for repairing narrow walls of mold of machine for continuous casting of steel comprises steps of determining wear degree of working surface of narrow walls; removing worn layer; restoring walls by applying coating; measuring fluctuation of width of narrow walls relative to their nominal size and value of flaws after removal of worn layer from working surface in the form of remaining shrinkage of end surfaces of narrow walls or their out-of- rectangularity; then restoring end surfaces of narrow walls by depositing (layer by layer) stripes shifted across deposition direction at first towards flaw zone for further depositing onto end surfaces by thickness equal to allowance value for mechanical working at thickness difference not exceeding allowance value; working end surfaces to nominal size. In addition end surfaces are worked to nominal size by milling at feeding tool clockwise. When remaining shrinkage is less than 0.2 mm working to nominal size is realized by manual scraping.
