METHOD FOR RESTORING WORN PARTS OF ALUMINIUM AND ITS ALLOYS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: processes and equipment for restoring worn parts of aluminium and its alloy, for example restoration of height (volume) of combustion chambers of cylinder heads of automobile and tractor engines. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminarily preparing part; surfacing it by freezing on in chill mold with melt of cast aluminium alloy; mechanically working part and heat treating of it; then subjecting part to microarc oxidizing in alkali electrolyte; performing above mentioned mechanical working while taking into account increased dimensions of part after microarc oxidizing. Invention provides strength of cohesion of part base metal and surfaced layer increased by 30 - 35%, lowered by two times and more heating of restored surface. EFFECT: increased useful life period of restored parts due to improved strength of surfaced layer and base metal and due to protection of restored surface against action of high temperature. 1 tbl
