FIELD: composite materials. SUBSTANCE: on a wall for volumetric weaving, cylindrical shells of continuous carbons forming three-dimensional reinforced structure. In tangential reinforcement direction of, carbon and dressing threads are disposed. Shells are placed in stove and pyrolytic carbon is precipitated from natural gas at 1000 C. Shells are removed from stove and their outside and inside surfaces are covered with 6-10% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol and boric acid. Resulting semifinished products are dried, placed in stove wherein powdered silica/silicon mix is disposed, and heated to 1750 C to yield composite containing carbon fibers and carbon/silicon carbide matrix (10-50% SiC) with 0.5-1.2% of boron additive. Material is characterized by density 1.57-1.96 g/cu.cm, bend strength 119-146 MPa, and shear strength 42- 55 MPa. EFFECT: increased chemical stability. 2 tbl, 2 ex
