FIELD: machine engineering, possibly operations for working openings in blanks by means of axial blade-type tool with use of cutting fluid. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of exciting amplitude modulated ultrasonic oscillations in cutting fluid fed by sprinkling directly in working zone; applying above mentioned oscillations to guiding jig sleeve for transmitting oscillations to cutting tool in radial direction. It provides increased time period of keeping strength of cutting tool due to intensified penetrability of cutting fluid by action of amplitude-modulated ultrasonic oscillations. EFFECT: enhanced working efficiency, lowered friction of cutting tool in zone of its contact with blank, simplified cuttings removal. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
